Kindle for Kids + Kate Spade Inspired DIY Kindle Cover

December 13, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Curious about the Kindle For Kids? Find out more about Kindle for Kids and Amazon Free Time plus this Kate Spade inspired Kindle Cover. Thanks to Amazon for sponsoring this post. #AmazonKindle #AmazonFreetime

Reading has always been my thing. When I think back to my childhood bedroom there were plenty of toys but the thing I remember most was the wall to wall shelves that were lined with books. Hundreds of books just waiting to be read over and over and I loved nearly all of them. Now as a parent one of my biggest goals is to raise children who love to read. Kids who beg for just one more chapter.

I’m happy to say that years of reading with Kayla has translated into her becoming one of those kids. Over Thanksgiving break she went through a stack of books. And even though her books are smaller than the 400-700 page ones I tend to get lost in, they sure do add up. Especially when you’re traveling! [Read more…]

Laptops for Dual Language Learners

November 18, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Looking for a great laptop for a child in a language immersion school or a dual language learner? I’m talking about some great features in the Lenovo Flex 4. Thanks to Intel for sponsoring this post.

This right here is Kayla’s reaction to hearing that this new Lenovo Flex 4 1480 with an Intel Core i5 processor was JUST for her. Oh and that the flex part was NO joke. Kids are awesome! If you’re like me and you have children around Kayla’s age then finding technology that you can feel good about and suits their tween needs is probably on your to do list this holiday season.

I found myself wanting to give Kayla something more powerful and interactive than the netbooks of Christmas past, but far less expensive than the laptops I work on. A touch screen would be nice too. So many of the educational programs out there are built for touch screens these days. Plus the ability to fold it up and watch a movie on it like a tablet while traveling would be even better, right?

Peace Of Mind & Sunshine – Bay Alarm Medical

October 7, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Want a neat medic alert button makeover? I partnered with Bay Alarm Medical to share this post.

Craig’s mom is a worrier. She worries about everyone. She worries about me like only a mother can even though I wasn’t born to her as a daughter.  She loves Kayla and Blake as I imagine only a grandparent can. And in turn I do a lot of worrying about her. Probably more than I let on.

Finding Your Side Hustle

January 19, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Need a work life change? Have some time on your hands and trying to figure out how to monetize it? I’m sharing some easy questions you can ask yourself to find your side hustle in partnership with Uber.

I think it’s safe to say that America as we know it was built on side hustle. That little spark that tells us to try something, make something, do something and then take it one step farther. In fact this very site started as my own personal side hustle project.

While working in fashion production management and watching that industry get turned upside down in 2009, I wanted more control of my earnings and of my life. Flying around the globe was great at 22 and less great as the mother of a toddler. After missing both Craig and Kayla’s birthdays in the name of travel I knew I needed change in lifestyle and a change in priorities.

The Juggle Is Real – Blackberry PRIV

December 26, 2015 By Jillian Warner

sponsored post disclosure

Do you ever feel like you’re a juggling circus act? I do. As a small business owner, freelance influencer strategist and mother of two, the juggle is real…and life sometimes feels like a three ring circus.

Step right up folks and see the eleven handed woman tackle lunch packing, contract signing, DIYing, pacifier finding, photo editing, thoughtful gift shopping and so much more.Except like most of you, I only have two hands. One of which  is perpetually holding a koala-like toddler. Sound familiar? The last sixteen months of my life have been all about doing things on the go, one handed and as efficiently as possible. I recently got some much needed help from the new Blackberry PRIV.
