No really, I mean it. Whatever it is that you do, enjoy it. If you’re following me on Instagram (and I really hope you are because we have a lot of fun over there) then you might have seen the story I posted about throwing together a little party for my husband’s birthday in about 20 minutes. And naturally this should be a post about throwing a party in 20 minutes. But it’s not.
Elena Of Avalor – Disney’s Newest Princess
I am so excited about #ElenaofAvalor and the role model she will be to my daughter. Thanks to Disney Channel and Latina Bloggers Connect for sponsoring this post.
Have you heard about Elena of Avalor? She’s Disney’s newest princess and not the kind waiting around to be saved by a prince. She’s strong, independent and smart with a side of humor. Which of course is my favorite kind of princess.
Elena of Avalor also happens to be Disney’s first Latina princess which is refreshing and perhaps a bit overdue. If you’re looking at Kayla and wondering where’s the Latina in her, there isn’t any. But you probably wouldn’t look at her and think she is a mixed race child with three religions in her home that speaks conversational Mandarin. She is.
Toddlers & Toothbrushes
LOOKING TO GET YOUR TODDLER BRUSHING BRUSHING THEIR LITTLE TEETH? I HAVE TEAMED UP WITH ORAJEL AS A #SMILEHOOD AMBASSADOR FOR 2016. THANKS TO ORAJEL FOR SPONSORING THIS POST.
Toddlers! Man do they love hard, play hard and melt down hard. They are tiny people of extremes trying to navigate this world of things just out of their reach. Everything is “Mine!” Nothing is yours except what was once “MINE!” and is now broken, covered in drool (is that drool?) or half eaten.
Over the past few months Craig and I have been helping Blake brush his mouth full of teeny tiny teeth and there has been a lot of this face. Does that look familiar? If you have a toddler it probably does. That’s the I’m not actually brushing my teeth, I’m just sucking the toothpaste off this toothbrush face. The furrowed brows say back off, mom.
Can We All Just Pause For A Second?
This week is depressing to say the least. It’s only Wednesday and I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling maxed out on tragedies, arguments and blame. The idea of deleting Facebook entirely has never been more appealing. As a parent I’ve cried, felt stupid for crying, felt like I haven’t cried enough and shaken my head in disbelief so many times reading the things people write on the Internet these days.
It’s like everything we were (or at least I thought we were) taught as children has gone out the window. Compassion without judgement. Treating others as you’d want them to treat you. And just being a decent human being seems to be tough on the Internet this week. Well maybe always, but it’s especially obvious this week. [Read more…]
Sunday FUNday With Kids
In need of a Sunday Funday? I’ve partnered with Zappos and Crocs to share the #FindYourFun movement and some tips to make your Sunday a Sunday with kids. #ZapposStyle
Lately our family has been embracing the Sunday FUNday mindset and making the most of a day that was once riddled with laundry and wishing for Saturday to return. Here’s how we do it with two kids of very different ages.
Full Circle with Step2
I am a Step2 Ambassador and traveled to Step2 HQ to share what I saw and felt. #Step2ambassador
If you’ve followed me for a while then you know my journey with Step2 started long before I had a blog. It simply started with my hunt for a few good toys for my child. Same as any parent out there. These days, the toy section is noisy. Literally and figuratively. What do we as parents really want from toys?
If you’re like me then you want toys that remind you of the ones from your childhood. Toys that won’t drive you to the brink of insanity with their electronic voices on repeat. Toys that let your kids just be kids and use their imagination. Toys that are made with love by people who truly care.
