Night Cereal: Banana Sushi Bar

August 28, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Make my banana sushi bar – it’s a fun way to have night cereal that I created in partnership with Got Milk #nightcereal #foodlovesmilk

I have three sisters. We are as different as can be and yet there is one strange thing we ALL do at night. Reach for a box of cereal. Normally this happens after Kayla and Blake go to bed but summer has been with us for a while now and the house rules have grown a bit…lax. At 8pm jammie clad kids are still hanging around like the last little bit of daylight.

Spring Break Means Rita’s

March 30, 2016 By Jillian Warner

This post brought to you by Rita’s San Diego. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Hello Splendid.

Like most of San Diego, this week is spring break for Kayla. That means 9 days of no school in a row. Naturally I had grand plans of all the things we would do, see, make and eat. Naturally those plans went out the window when Blake wound up sick for the first 4 days. Yup.

Teacher Appreciation Gift – You Deserve A Break

October 27, 2015 By Jillian Warner

Looking for an easy, inexpensive teacher appreciation gift? My snack break jars are perfect for the deserving teacher in your life. Fill a few up and drop them off in the office, they’ll definitely go fast! Thanks to goodnesknows for sponsoring this post. #tryalittlegoodness

We’re in the process of transitioning Blake into the toddler room at Kayla’s old preschool. After a one year hiatus from the school it feels nice to be “home.” The teachers are all sweet. Most of them we’ve known for years and trusted them with our most important possessions.

Still, my heart aches every morning handing him over but for a few weeks now he cries each day for a minute while I hide outside the door waiting for him to stop, hearing him being comforted and distracted by one of the sweetest women on the planet.  Today was different though, today he didn’t cry. Which calls for a little celebration. And some thank you’s.
