DIY Lemon Garbage Disposal Cleaner

April 20, 2016 By Jillian Warner

Wondering what to do with extra lemons? Make my lemon garbage disposal cleaner. Thanks to Earthbound Farm for sponsoring this post.

Tracking PixelWhen life hands you lemons say thank you and clean your garbage disposal. No, seriously. I’m a self-professed cleaning failure but this lemon garbage disposal cleaner is super easy to make and use. No one likes a stinky garbage disposal and It’s also nice to feel like you didn’t waste one more nice piece of produce. My kids do an awesome job at that already!

DIY Lemon Garbage Disposal Cleaner by Hello Splendid

My first Thanksgiving in San Diego I made the genius decision to fill our garbage disposal with potato scraps while peeling potatoes. Having just moved from New York City where garbage disposals are illegal I had never really used one. As you can imagine, it was an unmitigated disaster and I spent the evening washing dishes in our garage. BUT (silver lining) I learned a few things.

Simple Holiday Memories Mantle

November 7, 2015 By Jillian Warner

I created my holiday memories mantle as a great way to easily display photos that are near to my heart along with some simple home decor items for a no fuss holiday mantle in partnership with Snapfish. #snapfishbloggers

This week started my most favorite time of year. The time of year when I throw holiday music on repeat and flash a Cheshire Cat grin at my husband while he rolls his eyes in response. Whatever. It IS the most wonderful time of the year. Decorating for the holidays has brought me joy for as long as I can remember.

Last year I hosted my first BIG family Christmas in our not-that-big home. We squished, it was cozy. Memories were made. No dinners were burned. Victory! Having a 4 month old baby I had to be realistic about my ability to truly deck the halls. Sad face. This year I’m in Buddy The Elf mode but having a one year old with no fear I’m a bit nervous about ornaments so my focus is directed at the mantle. A place which is still (thank goodness) out of reach.

I started by taking a few of my favorite family photos and turning them into true works of art by creating framed photo canvases from the Snapfish home decor options. This photo has a special story behind it and it was long overdue to come out of the digital world and become a part of our home.

Easy DIY Word Art Canvas - Just upload your text and get it shipped right to your door! Perfect decor for any holiday,.

As a total fan of those cheeky, sweet and inspiring signs you see in stores I’ve longed to make my own but don’t have the patience for vinyl lettering a ton of text, hoping it comes out straight and painting, gluing and waiting for things to dry. I wanted EASY and foolproof. Which is exactly what I got. YAY!
