We checked out the new Step2 McLaren 570s Push Sports Car. Thanks to Step2 for sponsoring this post.
And just like that our three year old has a more stylish ride than his dad. It’s true. Blake recently acquired a McLaren 570s push sports car from Step2. Several of my friends have suggested that they can hear the song Ridin’ playing in the background as they look at these photos of him.
Over the last eight years I have assembled and operated more than my fair share of push cars. The awesome thing about them is that they always tend to elicit this response.
Blake was in all his glory, watching the wind blow bubbles for him as Craig pushed him around our neighborhood. But going beyond that, there is lots to love for both child and parent in the McLaren 570s Push Sports Car. Designers from McLaren Automotive and Step2 worked closely together to lend the feel of the real McLaren 570s to kids everywhere and make their parents jealous.
The first thing that caught my eye was the Ventura Orange color. With black accents, it’s bright, fun and the safety nut in me loves it. With two cupholders available to your child, they have room for sippy cups and snacks or in Blake’s case, bubbles.
Normally I’m not a huge fan of decals on toys but in this case they make the car look so realistic. While I was assembling it I was shocked to see the designers had even come up with brake caliper decal stickers that go on before applying the wheels.
The wheels themselves are the only kind you’ll want on a push car. They are Step2’s Whisper Wheels. Which means that they are made to ride quietly, versus the loud crunching sound you’ll hear from regular plastic wheels as they move on pavement. And of course the wheels on this car are different from the others in Step2’s lineup. They’re the sportiest little kid wheels I’ve ever seen!
When I assembled this car I expected a horn that beeped. Instead, you’ll hear the engine revving. Blake and I were both pretty delighted by this discovery. There was a LOT of engine revving.
You’ll also find a huge under the seat storage compartment for toys, a light jacket, etc.
