MAKE MY DIY MEMORY GAME. IT’S PERFECT FOR PUPPY DOG PALS LOVERS! THANKS TO DISNEY JUNIOR FOR SPONSORING THIS POST.
This is the time of year when we parents tend to get just a teensy bit desperate to come up with fun activities for our kids. I was thinking of buying Blake a memory matching game and it occurred to me that this was a project simple enough to make my own DIY memory game.
So inspired by one of his new favorite shows, Puppy Dog Pals, here’s a DIY memory game with a dog bone theme. It took only a few minutes to make and is the perfect party activity or party favor for a Puppy Dog Pals themed party.
Did you know that new episodes of Disney Junior programs are airing first during the morning block (about 6-10am) on Disney Channel this summer? We have been recording them to enjoy over and over on lazy mornings.
Kayla is ALWAYS game for an art project, so when I took out the paints to make this DIY matching game for Blake she begged me to let her do the painting. I thought it was sweet that she wanted to make something for her brother.
Here is what you’ll need to make my DIY dog bone memory game:
- wood cutouts ( I used dog bone shapes but you can use any shape you like)
- multiple bright colors of paint
- a paint brush
Because this is a quick and easy project, it makes for a cute party activity that doubles as a goody bag item. You can pre-fill little paint trays and give each kid a set of wood cutouts to make their own. Allow for a little bit of drying time and you’re all set.
To play as a memory game, lay out the pieces with the painted side down. Then take turns flipping over two pieces at a time and see who can make the most matches. Blake was super proud of himself when he made a match!
Alternatively, you can feed the dog bones to your new plush Bingo or Rolly. I found the cute puppies from Puppy Dog Pals in plush form at the Disney Store and there was no resisting those adorable faces. Kayla and Blake each got to choose one and they’ve been getting a lot of cuddles. Charger even tried to nab Rolly for himself, but luckily I was able to spare him from becoming a chew toy.
Disney Junior has new programming every FRiYAY morning on Disney Channel all summer long. You won’t just see Bingo and Rolly – You’ll get Elena of Avalor, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, The Lion Guard and Sofia the First too.
