Wondering what to give your dog for the holidays? What not to give them? I’ve got some ideas for you! Thanks to I and Love and You for sponsoring this post. #myilypet
This is the time of year when those of us with fur babies want to show them just how much we love them. Regardless of whether they were naughty or nice this year. After all, no matter how naughty they can be it’s always nice to have a furry friend to come home to.
Charger and I spend most of our waking hours together. I call him my assistant. He is terrible at fetching coffee and even worse at typing but he is amazing at providing cuddles and reminders to take a break and step outside.
Every year around this time the question remains – what to give our pets who are often like children to us? How can we show them how much we love them and thank them for their (mostly) unconditional love throughout the year?
I thought about an ugly Hanukkah sweater for Charger since he is a dog who celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah. But that seemed wrong. Hilarious, but wrong. Epic, but wrong.
Maybe Bumble slippers are more your style? Who doesn’t want to be a yeti? Yetis are SO in this year.
Just a little something to keep you cozy while you take your 17 power naps a day.
Or not. Okay, fine. Point made.
But SERIOUSLY, what can we give our favorite balls of fur this holiday season that they will LOVE and is also GOOD for them?
Skip the human food. Skip the ridiculous outfits. Skip the overly processed treats and the rawhides which can be so dangerous to dogs.
Instead, make a change that will serve them well every day instead of just one day a year. All you have to do for your dog this holiday season is give them extra cuddles and love in the form of a dog food that is actually good for them.
Our dogs don’t need 15 new bones, 3 cute sweaters and a designer dog bed when they’ll jump into ours in the middle of the night anyway. What they do need is a great dog food every day that leaves them licking their chops because they love it.
I’m a big fan of I and Love and You because it’s everything your dog needs and nothing they don’t. You know, how food should be.
Real meat is the very first ingredient and it’s free of fillers like white potatoes, barley, oats or corn. Yep. Dogs don’t need any of that stuff. Instead you’ll find foods like chickpeas, sweet potatoes, flaxseed, spinach and lentils. There are prebiotics and probiotics. And the dogs love it. Can you tell?
The best part is that it’s a present you can pick up while doing your basic grocery shopping because I and Love and You‘s new Naked Essentials kibble is now sold in lots of neighborhood grocery stores like Kroger or Ralph’s where I live and is even on places like Target.com and Amazon.com for those of us who like to click and be done.
