An advent calendar for mom? Why not! Make my DIY Advent calendar for mom. This blog pos was sponsored by Starbucks® but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience. #StarbucksPerfectPairing
Advent calendars are for kids, right? Or are they? Don’t we as moms deserve an advent calendar of our own? I think so. Here’s a DIY advent calendar for mom. Because let’s be honest about who is doing most of the grunt work during the holiday season. We are decorating, we are cooking, we are frantically making so many lists and checking them twice that YES! Mom needs a little something to look forward to as we count down the days until Christmas.
My DIY advent calendar for mom is a fun gift for your bestie, your sister or even yourself. It’s filled with little motivations that serve as reminders to take a minute for yourself this holiday season. There is coffee, chocolate, nail polish even some gold coin Target gift cards hidden in mine.
Coffee and chocolate pair perfectly (like Starbucks Holiday Blend and Lindt’s LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles) but when you add in Target then we’re talking the holy trinity of mom life. Oh yes. Gimme some of that.
To make my DIY advent calendar for mom I used:
- This advent calendar
- Starbucks K-Cups
- LINDOR truffles
- A few nail polish colors that felt holiday glam – like this one.
- Target gift coins
- White shred
I chose which spaces to fill with K-Cups and then added some white shred to the other spaces. Next I randomly hid a few bottles of glittery, festive Essie nail polish and some Target gift coins around the advent calendar. After all, who doesn’t like surprises that are an invitation to go treat yourself to a manicure or a guilt free trip to Target?
This is the time of year when we as mothers are extra obsessed with pleasing everyone else. We want everything to be perfect when the reality is that everything is pretty darn good already and the show will go on no matter what.
Regardless of what you put in your advent calendar or how Pinterest perfect or not it is, the message is the same. It’s a gift that’s meant to bring someone joy one day at a time. To have them celebrate a little moment of peace and quiet during a busy holiday season. A reminder that Christmas might be for children but those who make Christmas happen deserve to be celebrated too.
Looking for some perfect pairings to share with friends this holiday season? Target has a few great Starbucks offers in store for items like their Holiday Blend and Peppermint Mocha Caffee Latte. You can grab K-Cups or their instant VIA items and pair them with Lindt’s LINDOR truffles for an inexpensive but delicious gift.
