I partnered with Aveeno to share how I get my #springrenewal
The signs of spring are everywhere right now! Most notably in the form of peonies which I buy in excess during May and June. Every Monday I treat myself to a new bunch while doing my big grocery shop and love watching them bloom into amazing beauties like these by Tuesday.
Second to peonies one of my favorite things about spring is making the shift from bulky winter clothes to floaty chiffons and loose knits. I’m a total creature of habit and tend to buy a lot of blush tones and monochrome neutrals. But I also love a few fun pops of bright colors. Spring is a time to have fun and even try a few new styles – like a cutout bathing suit. Yep. That one is coming with me on a little getaway Craig and I have on the calendar.
When planning a spring wardrobe I put everything from apparel to accessories on a garment rack and see how it all works together. If you’ve never done it, I highly recommend giving this a try. If you can merchandise your purchases together odds are they work as a little capsule wardrobe and you’ll get plenty of use out of each piece.
For the past few years each spring I treat myself to a new pair of Tory Burch sandals and this year I picked up these gold flecked cork beauties. Since they’re neutral they go with just about anything I put on which makes early morning wardrobe decisions pretty simple and let’s be honest, they’re flip flops. With a grown up feel.
And then of course there is my hair. Hair completes the outfit. It just does. I always feel way more put together and confident when I take a little bit of time to do my hair. I cut off seven inches in January because it felt so damaged and it’s grown back pretty quickly and stayed healthy with just a couple of changes to my routine.
I started using Aveeno Pure Renewal shampoo and conditioner which I love because they’re sulfate free, and leave my hair feeling light, clean and shiny without over-stripping it. Plus I can grab them at Target which is always a bonus. While mom life often gets the best of me I know I feel renewed when I get a chance to do my hair and put on some cute clothes.
That’s it. Pretty flowers, a simple wardrobe update and pretty hair. Oh and kisses from furry little partner in crime. That’s how I get ready for spring. How do you renew yourself for spring?
