Make this cute DIY kiss kit for Valentine’s Day or New Years. Thanks to Vaseline for sponsoring this post.
Want to make your own kiss kit? My DIY kiss kit is simple yet filled with a few kissing essentials and make cute gifts for Valentine’s Day, New Years or even wedding favors.
I recently confessed to the amount of kissing that goes on in this house. Between delicious kids that I unapologetically drown in kisses and a husband who I love stealing smooches from, it only makes sense to have everything you need to be kiss ready at hand.
Yes, I could kiss this baby a bazillion times a day and still not have enough. I don’t know what it is about little boys but I cannot keep my lips off of Blake.
And quite frankly, I don’t think he minds. Blake has a major case of mommyitis. I hear it’s common amongst the toddler crowd. One of his favorite things is for me to pick him up, swing him around and lay kisses on him while he giggles like a madman.
All that kissing leaves your lips dry. Or at least it leaves my lips dry. Actually my lips are probably dry from not drinking enough water and my habit of lip biting. Yep, I’m a lip biter when I’m deep in thought or nervous. This means I am constantly battling dry lips. I avoid lipstick like the plague since it’s even more drying and well, I’ve just never been a fan. I don’t like the lip prints it leaves and feel it tends to look overdone in most everyday situations.
When I do want to have a little lip color that stays on, and doesn’t leave my lips feeling dry or sticky I have a simple two step process I use. First I color in my my lips with lip liner. Yep, top and bottom lip. Then I go over that with something that will moisturize like Vaseline Lip Therapy. The Rosy Lips is my favorite because it has a hint of color, a bit of shine and makes my lips feel smooth and well, kissable. The Lip Therapy Tins are new to the U.S. because you know, everything good starts in Europe!
So back to that DIY kiss kit. Here is what I put inside:
-Naturally it has a Vaseline Lip Therapy Tin in Rosy Lips you can get them at Target.
-This super inexpensive lip liner does the trick for me. It’s such a steal!
-A small tin of mints. Use whichever kind you like.
I found some cute felt envelopes while shopping at Target and decided to use one as the case.
Then I figured why not? I made a guys version.
It has the original Vaseline Lip Therapy which my husband has been using since well before he met me, the same toothbrushes and mints. So simple and easy but a cute gift. I love the idea of putting a basket of these out at New Years or a Valentine’s Day party.
Not that it has to be a holiday to kiss…
But seriously, if you’d like to make my DIY kiss kit you but aren’t quite ready you can pin the image below and it will be waiting for you when the time is right. If your lips are in need of therapy now you can pick up Vaseline Lip Therapy tins at Target or Target.com. They come in 4 different variations including aloe and cocoa butter.
