Hot Air Balloon Shopkins Party Favors

April 6, 2015 By Jillian Warner

If you’re planning a Shopkins party then I’ve been working on some easy Shopkins party favors for you. These Shopkins hot air balloons look festive so they can serve as party decor and make a great little party favor for your guests to take home.  Thanks to my friends from Moose Toys for partnering with me to share this post.

At about $3 each I think these Shopkins party favors are a very reasonable little party favor for guests to take home.  Making them is SO simple.  One trick I have when it comes to parties or just the ability to surprise kids on the fly is keeping a small helium tank at home.  It makes it easy to celebrate the small things without having to make a trip to the party store and since I like to randomly dive into a project it’s nice to have it there for that moment when at 7am on a Sunday you decide it’s time to make Shopkins hot air balloon party favors.  Mmmmhmmm.

All I did was take a few Shopkins 2 Packs and remove the shrink wrap from them.  Then I filled a couple of balloons with helium and used dental floss instead of ribbon or string on them.  You could also use thread but yep, dental floss was what I had in the house and it worked perfectly because it’s lightweight yet pretty strong. I tied two pieces of dental floss to the balloons and then tied the other ends to the handles on the baskets and trimmed the excess.  Which officially made it the simplest thing I have crafted in the history of….ever.

If you want to use these as table decor (they would look adorable on a dessert or candy table) then you can vary the lengths on the string and that will give a staggered look when you see all of the party favors together.

Just remember if you are making these in advance of your party, latex balloons don’t have the same staying power as mylar ones.  I HIGHLY recommend some Hi Float if you want to do them any earlier than a few hours before your party.   If you’re planning a Shopkins party and gathering ideas you can pin the photo below or repin this pin and these Shopkins party favors will be waiting for you when you’re ready!  You can also check out my push up pop Shopkins party favors.
