Photo canvases make wonderful memory filled holiday gifts. You can easily turn your favorite photos into home decor with Walmart Photo. Thanks to Walmart Photo for sponsoring this post.
Do you have a favorite photo? One that captures your family, your friends or even your pet in a way that always makes you smile? Odds are you do. And behind that photo is a moment, a place, a feeling, a milestone or a memory. This holiday season, I’ll still be shopping like everyone else, but I vowed to give more memories instead of things. An invitation to make new ones or a reminder of old ones.
When I look at this photo I’m reminded of the staycation Craig and I were on when it was taken. We had a break from parenting to remember what we’re like as a couple when we aren’t caring for kids. It’s one of my favorite photos of us. Seeing it always gets my wheels turning and thinking about what our next trip will be.
For months it’s been living on my phone and laptop. You know, where most of our photos live these days. But it was time for it to come to life. So I turned it into a photo canvas via Walmart Photo to give to Craig as part of his gift. Tangible, but memory filled. Of course I found a few more recent photos that needed to be brought to life as well.
Kayla and Blake couch cuddling and me getting the rare chance to fly Blake in the air (since dad usually handles that) both made the cut. Creating photo canvases at Walmart was very simple and more affordable than I expected at about $20 each for an 8×10 or 8×8. So I didn’t have to hold back and was able to create a few without breaking the bank. Larger sizes are also on sale at $24.96 for an 11×14 and $34.96 for an 16×20.
I chose to upload high-resolution files from my laptop but you can also easily transfer images from places like Facebook and Instagram online or from your mobile device in-store using the Fujifilm Kiosk Photo Transfer app. Those 8×8 canvases are perfect for Instagram photos! When my canvases arrived I was really pleased with how the canvases were backed with hooks already in place to be able to hang them from.
All that was left was for me to wrap them. I love that it only took me a few minutes to create a gift that is so meaningful for Craig and for our family. Well actually, I’m not done. The hardest part is figuring out what kind of adventure we should take to go along with this gift. He surprised me with a nature filled trip to Colorado for my birthday. I only hope I can think of something to do or somewhere to go that will bring him as much happiness and new memories as that trip brought me!
